Salsa Verde; Tomatillos, jalapenos, serrano chilis, cilantro, onion, and garlic come together.

Salsa verde is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used in a variety of dishes. It's made with green tomatillos, which are a type of fruit that is related to the tomato. They have a tangy and slightly sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with the other ingredients in salsa verde. This recipe is easy to make and can be customized to your liking.

  1. 1 lb green tomatillos, husked and rinsed
  2. 1/4 cup chopped white onion
  3. 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  4. 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  5. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)

  1. Preheat your grill or broiler to high heat.
  2. Place the tomatillos, onion, garlic, and jalapeño pepper on a baking sheet.
  3. Grill or broil the vegetables for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are charred and tender.
  4. Remove the vegetables from the heat and let them cool slightly.
  5. In a blender or food processor, combine the grilled vegetables, cilantro, salt, and sugar (if using).
  6. Pulse until the salsa is smooth, but still has a little texture.
  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  8. Serve the salsa verde immediately or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
